Become a Golf Professional at School

At an international school Thailand such as the American School of Bangkok, not only do they follow the American curriculum for students, but at one of their two campuses, they have a full-time golf training schedule. There are boarding facilities at this campus, known as the Green Valley Campus. This golf academy is known as the International Preparatory Golf Academy or IPGA. It is Asia’s first full-time junior golf academy. Your child will receive world class training from professional golfers. Any student can take up golf; it does not matter what their skill level is. This particular program is geared towards students between 13 and 18 who have decided that they want to play at college level. At the same time the student is learning all the skills needed to play golf, he or she is also being groomed to handle school and entrance to a university at home or abroad.  The student will attend academic classes at the American School of Bangkok during the course of the day but later on in the day they join their colleagues at the IPGA where they partake of their individual training program. 

 

Once a student graduates from the golfing academy, the American School of Bangkok will endeavour to see that each student receives the best placement. Therefore, they try and cultivate excellent relationships with many of the coaches from the colleges.

 

Aiming for the future

There is also a Player Development Program geared to students between the ages of 5 to 12 who want to learn for the love of the game. Aspiring golfers need to develop a passion for the game and love the fun of playing golf whilst learning to be a professional. They also need to build a cornerstone of activity and athleticism so that they keep healthy and active whilst playing and learning golf. To develop the child further, activities such as locomotor skills, kicking, throwing and catching are taught as well.
